The caves of the Sierra de Atapuerca contain a rich fossil record of the earliest human beings in Europe, from nearly one million years ago and extending up to the Common Era. HS Academy 1st Training Camp in Burgos, Spain
Organized by CENIEH, IPERION HS Academy held the first Training Camp in Burgos (Spain) on July 11-15th, 2022.
The 1st HS Academy Training Camp introduced the participants to the cutting-edge tools for materials characterization and dating applied to Paleontological and Paleoanthropological heritage. During the five intensive days of lectures and hands-on experience based on a problem‐solving approach, trainees had the opportunity to learn how to use different methodologies to delve into the most relevant dating techniques (Electron Spin Resonance, Optically Stimulated Luminescence, Paleomagnetism, Uranium-series) and materials characterization (nano and micro-computed tomography).
