Registration is also open – deadline early-bird registration is 15 January 2016
Since the discovery of metal soap-related degradation phenomena in paintings at the beginning of this century, thousands of art objects affected by metal soap degradation have been recognized. The conference will bring together art historians, conservators and scientists to present the current status in metal soap-related degradation and to discuss conservators’ needs for characterization, treatment, implications for appearance, as well as the analytical challenges involved.
The conference incorporates an innovative workshop which will serve as a platform for discussion and where future research objectives will be defined. The 2-day conference comprises presentations by invited speakers and poster sessions with pitches (1.5 days), followed by a workshop (0.5 day).
We look forward to see you at the Metal Soaps in Art conference in 2016!
With kind regards of the organizing committee,
