Proteomics

Ancient proteomics (palaeoproteomics) is the extraction and identification of proteins from archaeological remains and cultural heritage materials.This can help to identify the taxonomic origin of an archaeological sample, can be used to identify food past use or consumption, as well as identify proteins which may be related to disease. Ancient proteomics involves the extraction of proteins and their subsequent analysis using LC-MS/MS.
