IPERION HS TNA User Meeting #04

The User Meeting webinars are organized by the HS Academy, a collaborative initiative between IPERION HS and E-RIHS. The two European projects integrate facilities of recognized excellence in Heritage Science, offering access to a wide range of high-level scientific instruments, methodologies, data, tools and training opportunities for advancing knowledge and innovation in the field.

The 4th User meeting will be held online on February 13th, 2024 at 3 pm (CET, Rome time zone) using the ZOOM webinar platform. The User Group Leader Teresa Palomar will share her experience related to the TransNational Access (TNA) project of access to IPERION HS Molab services. The topic of speaker’s research project is the following: “Historical evolution of high-quality glass pieces from the Spanish Royal Glass Factory” (acronym: GRANJA).

– 30 minutes presentation by the user;
– 30 minutes for the Q&A interactive session of the participants with the user.

 

Abstract of the user’s Molab access project

The “Real Fábrica de Cristales de San Ildefonso” (Spanish Royal Glass Factory) has elaborated high-quality pieces for more than 300 years. However, despite the glass pieces from La Granja are renowned because of their high-quality, up-to-date, chemical analyses of the pieces from La Granja have been occasional. The aim of this project is to make for the first time a comprehensive study of the historical evolution of pieces elaborated in La Granja.

About the user

Teresa Palomar is Doctor in Chemistry in the Autonoma University of Madrid and Master in Conservation Science in the Pablo de Olavide University (Sevilla). She has developed her scientific career in the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the Spanish Centre Foundation of Glass (FCNV) and the Research Unit VICARTE “Glass and Ceramic for the Arts” (Portugal). Currently, she is assistant researcher in VICARTE. Her scientific career has been focused on the archaeometry and conservation of inorganic materials from cultural heritage, especially on glass. In 2018, she received the Special Mention in the Young Researcher on Conservation Science Award organized by the Spanish group of the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works.
