Institute of Technical and Macromolecular Chemistry

The Institute of Technical and Macromolecular Chemistry is located within the Chemistry department. ITMC also hosts the Magnetic Resonance Centre (MARC). MARC is equipped with a variety of NMR instruments covering all methods of spectroscopy and imaging relating to materials science and chemical engineering. Latest developments include compact NMR spectrometers for spectroscopy under the fume hood. An important development at MARC was the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance‐MObile Universal Surface Explorer (NMR‐MOUSE), a portable instrument, which provides single‐sided access to measure arbitrary sized samples at the site. From a prototype developed through EU‐ARTECH, CHARISMA and IPERION CH projects the NMR‐MOUSE® is today a registered trademark and is available off the shelf and new models have been developed that are sold by Magritek GmbH Germany.
