FT-IR spectrometer

FT-IR spectroscopy is a technique based on the interaction of infrared radiation with matter. It provides information about functional groups in molecules in the sample, and therefore about the single moelcules. It is a qualitative and quantitative technique. Spectra can berecorded over the range 650-4000 cm-1.

Potential Results

Identification of functional groups in molecules of the sample; identification of the molecular composition of inorganic and organic compounds; identification of products of degradation and corrosion; study of the kinetic of degradation of materials.
