Technique: Multi spectral luminescence microscope (MSLM)

MSLM equipment

MSLM is composed of an inverted microscope body allowing equipped with a motorized satge allowing the study of sample sfrom the micro-sample up to the object. The illumination is provided by a n illuminator allowing the selction of 16 excitation spectral range from 380 up to 770. The deection part is composed of a transmission filterwheel, allwing the multispectral emission measurmeents in front of a 4 million pixles CMOS detector allowing collecting images between 350 and 1100nm. 1.6x, 5x, 20x, 50x and 63x magnification are available.

Potential Results

MSLM allows collecting high resolution luminescence and reflectance images of complex materials. The selctiviy of both excitation and emission ranges allows to decipher contrats within complex materials in relation with physico-chemical heterogeneity and allow to provide specific morphologies, which is of interest in the study of palontoligical speciumen, or detect predence of altertation compounds in paint samples. It ithus a releavant instrument to determine heterogeneity of samples ahead of more chemicaly specific analyses such ash FTIR micro-spectroscopy or synchrotron X-ray imaging.
